Job # 1 Production Operator

Position Summary: 

It is the responsibility of the Production Operator to ensure the proper loading and alloying of raw materials in melting furnaces for casting aluminum ingot. The Production Operator also ensures the casting process runs efficiently while maintaining company safety, quality, and 5S standards. This position operates in a production environment and interacts with all department team members. Effective professional communication is essential.

 

Job Duties:

  • Prepares and weighs specified amounts of raw materials for loading into the assigned melting furnace.

  • Prepares all necessary equipment for casting operations. Casts molten metal into ingots; skims and assists others as necessary in the ingot casting process.

  • Loads specified materials to chip dryer monitors dry speed and condition of dried chips weighs and records dry weight.

  • Operates forklifts to transport and process materials within the casting operations.

  • Assists others in maintaining clean and organized work areas.

  • Adheres to policies, safety, quality, attendance, reliability, good judgment, interpersonal relationships, initiative, and independent thinking.

 

Job Experience:

 

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is desired.

  • Forklift experience is preferred.

 
 

Job #2 Maintenance Technician

 

Position Summary:

 

The Maintenance Technician installs, maintains, and repairs, mechanical equipment, and electrical systems within the company’s manufacturing facilities.  Maintenance Technicians serve a vital role within the company.  The work completed by the Maintenance Technician impacts the entire company, as certain equipment is essential to the production of aluminum alloys.

 

Maintenance Technicians interact with all team members.  Effective professional communication is essential along with maintaining company safety, quality, and 5S standards.

 

 

Job Duties:

 

  • Install and repair electrical components, transformers, wiring, and switches associated with the process equipment and facilities.

  • Welding and fabrication for repairs and process tools used in the smelting process.

  • Set up and operate shop tools and machinery such as ironworker, grinder, drill press, and pipe threader to repair or fabricate parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools.

  • Troubleshoot defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.

  • Preventative and predictive maintenance of associated equipment and machinery.

  • Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.

 

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • Minimum 5 years experience in industrial maintenance is preferred or an equivalent of education and experience totaling 5 years experience.

  • Minimum 2 years of welding and fabrication experience preferred.

  • Experience in industrial electricity, relay logic, troubleshooting, basic PLC, and variable frequency drive knowledge is preferred.

  • Experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, and HVAC is helpful.

  • Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
